SUPPLY CHAIN

Egypt has depended on importing wood for centuries, as forests do not naturally grow in the hot, arid climate. Needing a dependable, sustainable source of wood for MDF, NILEWOOD research and development saved no effort in studying trees that are native to Egypt, which could be used successfully to manufacture MDF boards.

From planting the first seed to the finished product, each part of the journey works towards the quality of the final product. NILEWOOD depends on a strong support system, with sister companies playing a vital role in ensuring vertical integration and a strong supply chain. Eco for Agriculture started planting forests in the Egyptian deserts since 2018 and manages the foresting activities for NILEWOOD supply. Eco has planted around 3,000 feddans with trees. This afforestation of desert areas uses recycled wastewater (two-stage treated) and increases the availability of agricultural land in Egypt
